Description: We’re taking a break from our rat races,
To mix with a crowd of cheerful faces;
Some you’ll know, others you won’t recognize,
Let’s make new friends and break some ice.

Run around Camp Storer and find every clue,
Can you piece them together with the help of your crew?
Is it a riddle? A puzzle? A joke? A rhyme?
Find a solution before you run out of time.

Let’s begin this year’s retreat with some fun,
We’ll laugh and learn and tire while we run;
So prepare yourself for this scavenger hunt,
If you win this game, you’ll be in Anand!

Description: Art as Therapy is a strengths-based empowerment-focused organization offering art psychotherapy and arts based workshops. Art therapy encourages self expression through the often less familiar modality of making something, which allows participants to tap into their creativity, to see things in a new way, to learn about themselves, and to gain personal insight.

Using art expression, participants will explore how the Guru’s word and our relationship with the Guru can support our mental wellness. Participants may experience enjoyment through the process, and the act of making something may positively shift their mood and energy level.
Participants will leave with:

  • An understanding of how Gurbani can support their mental health needs
  • A lived experience of how art-making can be used as a form of self expression that can lead to personal insight
  • A tangible art product that will remind them of new insights gained and will serve as a souvenir of the workshop

Description: Dealing with people, emotions, or actions that are harmful to your path as a Gursikh is a staple of daily life. However, learning to actually apply Guru-oriented methods in difficult situations is much different. This workshop will hopefully provide Historical examples of Guru Sahibs facing “enemies” and Gurbani that provides wisdom on where your actions and thoughts should be coming from.
